We set this up in the backyard last weekend and the vented roof actually made a big difference on a warm afternoon. Assembly took two of us about three hours, but the finished structure feels really sturdy and stable.

The mesh netting keeps the bugs out, which is a lifesaver during summer evenings. The vented roof also helps a lot with airflow, so it doesn't feel stuffy underneath even on a warm day. I've got our whole patio set under it with room to spare.
